Dungarvan Transport is Waterford’s largest transport business and a second generation family owned and run indigenous firm based in Dungarvan County Waterford specialising in three sectors of the market, wood transport, agri-products and pharmaceuticals.  We deliver quality transport services throughout Ireland and the UK.  As a company we strive to be the best we can be and keep up the standards our customers expect and connect with our company and family reputation.

Dungarvan Transport is known for its customer care and high quality standard of vehicle and equipment on the road - crucial for customers peace of mind and trust.   Our team of drivers, Mechanics and office staff always work to meet the demands of our customers. Our fleet of trucks and equipment are modern so ensuring continued reliability.   We are also members of both the Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) and Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI).

We are a fully licensed Haulage Company and have full Goods in Transit insurance and liability cover. All policies available for inspection on request.  All our trucks are fitted with mobile phones and a satellite tracking system so we can offer our customers quick response times in resolving delivery collection times etc.  Our fully computerised systems to provide up to the day POD's, invoices & query response. Office based satellite tracking to assist in providing the most efficient solutions to our customer's logistics requirements. Constant updates to guidelines & legislation issued by Dept. of Transport and other governing bodies are fully adhered to and we are holders of a Full International Haulage licence and 26 county Waste collection licence & permits.

Gerard & Tomas Horgan

Tomas Horgan, Managing Director specialises in the management and business development of Dungarvan Transport.

Gerard Horgan, a qualified technician, specialises in workshop management and technology and oversees the technical side of the business ensuring maximum operability of all equipment..

Aiden Lyons the Transport Manager can be found in the office with Office Manager Bernie O’Donoghue and Financial Controller Donal Dempsey, both long term servants and essential members of the Dungarvan Transport team.

Each and every member of our team plays a vital role and strong teamwork ensures our large but closely knit team of drivers and engineers work together efficiently to ensure swift and timely service for our customers.  This team, like our business, is growing - but we know we can only grow by being the best we can be, so we do not rest on our laurels.

The Industry Memberships

We are proud to be part of organisations working for the furthering of haulage in Ireland.

Dungarvan Transport is a member of both the Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) and Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTAI).  We see both both Associations as important to the Irish Transport industry and recognise and appreciate their successes in backing and assisting Irish hauliers.  In particular we note the successes of the IRHA in recent Essential Fuel User Rebate and weight increase negotiations, and the input that the FTAI has made to raising standard and accreditation for both licensed hauliers and own account operators.

It is important for everyone that these groups work to better the industry, and Dungarvan Transport appreciate, back and assist them to make Irish haulage better, safer and more efficient for all.
